Carbon Fibers

Carbon fibers are divided into two categories. One is PAN(Polyacrylonitrile)-type carbon fibers manufactured by burning a special acrylic fibers. Another is pitch-type carbon fibers manufactured from pitch (remaining products of distilled petroleum or coals). Carbon fibers have many advantageous characteristics such as very light weight, high tensile strength and elasticity, excellent heat resistance, electrical conductivity, and resistance to chemical agents. Carbon fibers are mainly used for reinforcement materials for plastics.

In PAN-type carbon fibers, the degree of tensile strength and elasticity varies depending on the burning condition. Carbon fibers are divided into high-performance carbon fibers and universal-use carbon fibers. High-performance carbon fibers are widely used for aerospace applications, sporting equipment such as black shafts of golf club and ordinary industrial uses because of their extremely high tensile strength and elasticity. Universal-use carbon fibers are used mainly for reinforcement material of concrete and heat insulating materials.

1. END-USES
Sporting Goods such as Golf Shaft, Fishing Rods, Tennis Rackets, Skis, Archery, Yachts, Boats, Racing Cars, Motorcycles, Bicycles, etc. Construction Materials in the Field of Aerospace and Space Shuttles: Spring Plate, Brakes, X-ray Instruments, Precision Equipment, Reinforcement Materials of Concrete, Heat Insulating Material, etc.
2. FEATURES
  1. High tensile strength and little extension even by pulling fibers.
  2. Excellent in resistance to abrasion and dimensional stability.
  3. Excellent in resistance to heat and to chemical agents.
  4. Excellent in electrical conductivity.
