Synthetic Fibers
Polypropyrene Fibers

Polypropylene fibers are manufactured by polymerization of propylene produced by purifying the petroleum. Polypropylene fiber is lightest in weight among synthetic fibers. It can float in water. Polypropylene fiber is used for home furnishings such as carpets and rugs; and industrial uses such as ropes, reflecting the characteristics of strong tensile strength, resistance to acid and alkali and soil resistance. In addition, it is also used for swimsuits, socks and underwear with superior in warmth retention and fast drying properties thanks to little moisture and water absorption. On the contrary, it is inferior in heat resistance.
Self-adhesive composite fibers compounded of polypropylene fiber and other polymers of low melting point are also manufactured for a wide variety of hygienic products.

END-USES

FOR CLOTHING

Socks, Thermal Underwear, Swimsuits, etc.

FOR HOME FURNISHINGS

Medical supplies, Carpets, Automotive Rugs, Braids, etc.

FOR INDUSTRIAL USES

Fishing Nets, Ropes, Filter Cloth, V-belts, Water-proofed Sheets, Nets for Construction, etc.

FEATURES

  1. 1. The specific gravity is 0.91, lightest in weight among all fibers. One of the very strong fibers.
  2. 2. Little moisture and water absorption. Quickly dryable even it is wet. Superior in warmth retention thanks to the low heat transfer rate.
  3. 3. Resistant to acid and alkaline chemicals.
  4. 4. Thermoplastic.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Wash with water avoiding the drycleaning. Avoid tumble drying (hot air dryer), iron at low temperature and use an iron cloth, because polypropylene fiber is heat sensitive and tends to be deformed by heating.
